Andaman and Nicobar: Five Nights and Six Days

The trip to Andaman and Nicobar Island in the Union territory of India is a perfect way to find peace of mind in the quiet and calm beaches, along with the action of water sports. Although the stay here is so satisfying that you would love to extend your vacation, a short trip of six days and five nights will not be regrettable if planned properly. This place mesmerizes a large number of tourists every year with its sand beaches, coral reefs, water sports, and historical monuments.

Located at the meeting point of the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar comprise of 572 islands, though only 37 are explorable. Day one of the itinerary includes reaching the Port Blair Airport and checking in to the respective hotels provided by the tour and travel agency. Later on, tourists should head to the local Corbyn's Cove beach and bask in the sun, followed by delectable local lunch. In the evening, a visit to the historical Cellular Jail to see the spectacular light and sound show cannot be missed. This show depicts the struggle of freedom fighters, when the jail was operational, through enactment.

Day two in Andaman and Nicobar is definitely for the water sports lovers. It includes a visit to Ross Island (British era capital), North Bay as well as Viper Island. From the coral island of North Bay, tourists can have a look at the vast stretch of the open sea and the Port Blair gateway. Once they reach the port tourists are free to explore local markets for a memorable shopping experience and see more tourist spots like Chatham Saw Mills (the oldest mill in India by Britishers to supply timber), Chidiya Tapu, island where one can see flocks of rare migratory birds, the Samudrik Museum by navy gives information about the marine life, the Water Complex offering all form of water sports under one roof and Marina Park housing more than 350 species of marine creatures.

Day six is the final day in Port Blair where after breakfast, the tour and travel agency will drop tourists back at the airport. In case their itinerary allows some spare time, tourists can pay a visit to the nearby beaches and interact with the local people, then shop for locally handmade items. The trip to Andaman and Nicobar Island not only enhances tourist's travel experiences, but it also gives them a sneak-peek into India's struggle for freedom.
